Today I finally had a day in the field at Humbug Marsh, south of Detroit, in Wayne Co. Adrienne and I joined Julie Craves and Darrin O'Brien, ostensibly in search of some unsual wasps. There were quite a few Odes out -- thousands of Enallgma civile were flying over vegetation and feeding. Lots of Pantala flavescens and a few Anax junius and Tramea lacerata, and some Aeshna umbrosa. Darrin did catch a Stylurus notatus, which was the prize of the day. It was a brief trip, but very interesting, and certainly great to be out in the field with Julie and Darrin!
